Important: Dogs with coats that are significantly matted will often need to be shaved in order to remove the coat. Shaving can be a traumatic experience for a dog, as it involves
the blade cutting very close to the skin for lengthy periods. In the interests of the dog, this procedure is therefore best undertaken by a vet.
